Jurnal Sosiologi Andalas is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Laboratory of Sociology, Departement of Sociology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Andalas, Padang, West Sumatra. The word "andalas" is the other name for the island of Sumatra, and it is also the name of a plant in West Sumatra. This journal aims to facilitate academic discussion about relevant issues sociologically, especially on conflict and community development for an inclusive society, which includes organization, extractive Industry, multicultural society, sustainable economic management of natural resources and extractive industry., community empowerment, community resilience, family and social transformation, cultural transformation and new media, education and social transformation, development policy analysis and social movement.
